My ECE is a free, publicly provided early childhood education consumer information service.
My ECE provides parents, families and whānau with straightforward information on early childhood education (ECE).
My ECE also supports the ECE Parents’ Council, a group promoting the inclusion of parent and family views in the sector, to improve standards and quality for all children.
My ECE was born following the recommendations of the NZ Government ECE Taskforce in 2011 for details on service quality and standards to be brought together in a format that is easy for parents to access.
Parents and caregivers can use the ECE National Register to look up any licensed early childhood centre or service, learn more about it, and compare it with other services. Externally submitted reviews are also provided here to allow parents and caregivers to form their own opinions when choosing an early childhood service.
My ECE can support parents to make a confidential complaint against an early childhood service to the Ministry of Education.
Published for parents are articles and checklists on a range of early childcare and education topics.
Learn about the Parents’ Choice Awards. Read the Code of Children’s Rights. See a plain-language guide to the licensing criteria and early childhood education regulations.
We hope you enjoy access to all this information and insights on early childhood education and care and find it helpful.
The Parents Council represents parents in early childhood education. We are a voice for parents and their children on childcare and education provision, safety, and cost.
