Group / Centre Size: A group size of no more than 4 children, with one educator. Small group size is important for children's learning and emotional well-being.
Qualified teaching staff: Home educators and carers are not recognised for a practising certificate as teachers by the Teaching Council. But educators may hold a recognised qualification - you will need to personally ask your child's home educator
Has male and female teaching staff: In 2019 the teaching team was, known to have been usually or all of the time, women only. (Note that it is best to have gender balance with children being taught and cared for by both men and women. In Home-based ECE this criterion relates to visiting teachers only)
