In 2020 the Ministry of Education did a licensing inspection of the centre. It found many non-compliances but decided not to place it on a provisional licence. Instead it put in a support plan using SELO funding.
Issues noted were that the centre did not have on full display for parents or visitors the full names and qualifications of each person counting towards regulated qualification requirements. A record of all injuries, illnesses and incidents that occurred was not fully completed. The emergency plan did not include pandemic planning. It did not meet criteria requirements for emergency drills. In addition to the above breaches the service was required to reduce the maximum number of licensed child places to reflect enrolments and the current number of teachers employed.
