(Note that it is best to have gender balance with children being taught and cared for by both men and women. In Home-based ECE this criterion relates to visiting teachers only)
COMPLIANCE warning: Don't worry. The recent record of this service is good! It's licence was not downgraded by the Ministry of Education in 2019 or 2020 as far as we know (if you want to check on its history before 2019 go to more info below)
Is this service in the Wall of Shame?: NO. As far as is known there has not been a major reported incident of the standard or ethic of care falling below what society in general considers to be acceptable
We enrolled our older son in Mariposa 5 years ago and he successfully graduated from there with good skillset for his age. When time came to decide on the daycare for our youngest son, there was no doubt it should be Mariposa.
Mariposa has great teachers staff, they are always friendly, kind to kids, and always willing to help. They do great social events for kids, and their parents too!
I like how Mariposa connects teaching to Te Whariki and we always enjoy reading child progress stories!
Well done Mariposa and Thank you very much!

Both our daughters attended Mariposa from the age of 1 year until their school years. We cased out a few daycares when doing our research but instantly warmed to the teachers and the environment at Mariposa and never looked back. They were our daughters 2nd family and 2nd home and we always knew they were safe and happy! Such fond memories and we were saddened to leave but love to pop back and visit the teachers!
