Ownership: This service is a privately operated business e.g. it is owned by a sole trader, partnership, company or private trust
Street or Road: 296 Dee Street, Avenal
Phone: contact number is not available for new enrolments yet
Ages of children: Licensed to care for children from infancy
Group / Centre Size: A group size of no more than 4 children, with one educator. Small group size is important for children's learning and emotional well-being.
Qualified teaching staff: Home educators and carers are not recognised for a practising certificate as teachers by the Teaching Council. But educators may hold a recognised qualification - you will need to personally ask your child's home educator
Shows Children that Men Can Teach and Care for Young Children Too: In 2019 the teaching team was, known to have been usually or all of the time, women only. (Note that it is best to have gender balance with children being taught and cared for by both men and women. In Home-based ECE this criterion relates to visiting teachers only)
Is this service HIGHLY Parent Rated?: THIS SERVICE CANNOT YET BE CLASSIFIED AS A HIGHLY RATED SERVICE. (To be so it needs to have a number of recent positive reviews - at least 5 positive if a small centre, or 10 if a mega-centre or a home-based service)
COMPLIANCE warning: Don't worry. The recent record of this service is good! It's licence was not downgraded by the Ministry of Education in 2019 or 2020 as far as we know (if you want to check on its history before 2019 go to more info below)
Is this service in the Wall of Shame?: NO. As far as is known there has not been a major reported incident of the standard or ethic of care falling below what society in general considers to be acceptable
My child has been with the same caregiver in her home since he was 6 months old and I cannot praise this home based service enough. He generally is in care 9 - 3pm 5 days a week. My child gets to see and play with the other children in her care and with the numbers being small they form a real bond as opposed to 20 - 30 children running around. She is a real support in keeping my child feeling safe and cared for.
