About the ECE Parents Council
The ECE Parents’ Council is the representative body for parents with children in early childhood education services across NZ.
We have a committee of volunteers who are new parents with children in ECE and parents of children who have been through the ECE system.
We are non-party political and a voice for parents across the full range of government licensed early childhood education and care centres and home-based services.
We have more than 1,200 members and our number is growing.

We advocate for:
* High quality education and care for all children.
* ECE policy and regulation to have children as the top priority – including ensuring children are kept alive and safe, healthy, and supported in their development and learning.
* ECE service partnership with parents in their child’s care and education
* Affordable childcare for all families and free kindy programmes for children aged 3-5 yrs.
* Parent voice.
